Jaguar assumes prime position on Wicklow Street

Wicklow Street has always had a reputation as one of the most important shopping areas in city centre Dublin. Now, that reputation has been further reinforced following the conversion of number 35 into the stylish Jaguar Boutique where the stunning new Jaguar XJ is being showcased.

This temporary showroom initiative is one of the first of its kind in Dublin city centre retail history.

The Jaguar Boutique, which opened on 3 December, is located on a street more usually associated with high-profile fashion, footwear and jewellery retailers such as Brown Thomas, Weir & Sons, Lacoste, Camper Shoes and Louis Copeland.

In order to safely install the Jaguar XJ, (a bold and sophisticated piece of design and engineering which retails at a cool €86,450), the company removed the façade of the original store.  The entire construction and installation work took just  seven days.

The showroom is in situ for six weeks, after which future tenants can expect to pay an annual rent of €110,000 for the unit, which comprises 69.7 m2 at ground level and 29.2 m2 at basement level.

According to James Hardy of letting agents Jones Lang LaSalle, Jaguar’s decision to showcase the new Jaguar XJ on Wicklow Street beside other major luxury brands further reinforces Wicklow Street’s position as one of the most stylish retail locations in the capital.
